Kosovo has one of the highest emigration rates in Southeastern Europe, with one of every four households having at least one member living outside of the country (World Bank, 2010). Traditionally migrants from Kosovo have gone to Germany and Switzerland. Recently, more migrants are heading to other destinations in Europe, especially Italy (UNDP, 2010). Economic migrants, migrants who leave for employment, comprise 43% of all migrants from Kosovo.
